Love the reference to your personal hierarchy of needs.. It's something I've thought so much about since my twins were born and then my other daughter and my needs seemed to get stuffed to waaaayyy below the fruits and veggies portion of the pyramid

Nice essay, k!And I'm glad to see that you're aware that it is fleeting. I was worried for a minute when you said you reached self-actualization...with a 4 1/2 year old.

Loved this, Kristin. I remember this particular health class, too. I posted a taste of it on MilwaukeeMoms.com.

Great post. I remember that lesson too...You are very lucky to have reached a 'fleeting actualization of self'...I hope you reach another one before she hits college!

Cute post. I'm not a frequent commenter, but I had to share what my high school health teacher said to me once. My brother had recently had a bar mitzvah, and somehow it came up during class. My esteemed teacher proceeded to say something about Jewish boys being circumsised at their bar mitzvahs. I can't remember what I told him, but I still laugh about his comment today, 15 years later. Are any high school health teachers really qualified to teach health?
