Dearest Dot Moms-

Hi there. My name is Brett Berk. I'm not sure who I'm addressing here--can't seem to locate the general contact button--but I'm writing regarding my instructive non-fiction book The Gay Uncle's Guide to Parenting, which was just published by Crown/Random House this spring. The book draws on my 20 years of experience working with young children and parents--but having no offspring of my own--to offer a unique, outsider's perspective on how to raise kids. It's narrative and (I've been told) humorous and highly readable--each chapter is essentially a story of real caregivers "dealing" with an issue in contemporary parenting--but is imbued with sound and actionable advice as well. There are also all sorts of handy sidebars, checklists, and didactic sections offering examples and guidance.
