I'm the Little Engine

I've always been small -- short, thin, with tiny bones. And from the time I was very young, I felt like my favorite children's book character: the little engine that could. That's me, chugging along, "I think I can, I think I can," climbing every mountain in my way, crossing every bridge, and delivering every package to make the good people of the village happy.

Some days, I'd rawther stay at the Plaza than the roundhouse, and be Eloise instead.

Which children's book character are you most like?

I'm HARRIET THE SPY. Curiosity is my number one appetite, I think. I NEED to know everything. Thank goodness, my spying has never gotten me into the trouble that Harriet got into. Before Prozac, I was often HENNY PENNY, who always thought the sky was falling down.

I am totally Olivia, Ian Falconer's amazing pig. The dreams, the creativity, the mouthing off. That's me.

OK, truthfully, most days Emma is Olivia and I'm Olivia's mom, with her "GASP!" and "You wear me out, but I love you anyway." But still. I want to be Olivia.

Oh definitely Sam from "Sam, Bangs and Moonshine"

She lived in her imagination and it got her into very serious trouble.

that's me all over.
