40 before 40, part two

Here are some more things I want to do before I turn 40:

11. See all the lighthouses on the East Coast.
12. See all the lighthouses on the West Coast.
13. See all the lighthouses in between.
14. Spend two weeks at the beach just reading and writing.
15. SURVIVE HURRICANE SEASON!
16. Beat my 8-year-old son at ... anything.
17. Cook a dinner for my husband so good that he says, "That was the best meal I've ever had."
18. Make smoothies with bananas that grew on the tree in our soon-to-be backyard.
19. Plant a garden.
20. Spend the afternoon napping in a hammock.

What do you want to do?

Like the other Robin, I'm also 42. 50 things? Whamo! When I see how you divided lighthouses into 3 sep. items, I feel entirely daunted!

To think that I will be 42 in February means I have to do a before 50 list. YIKES! That seems really old to me!!!!!

I want to go on a lovely long vacation with Rich and Lillianna to Disney World. I pray we don't go during a hurricane!!

I have to learn french so I'll know what hubby is talking about :)

This summer we went to a lighthouse down here on the Island and let me tell you, it's no big thrill. We had to climb up,like, five flights of stairs, (carrying the kids by the way) and the stairs were so steep they were like climing ladders. Coming down was an adventure, that's for sure. I was wondering aloud about the province's liability insurance.

Good luck though, on your quest.

I turned 40 nine months ago and I've been taking a semi-sabbatical this year. I've been working less and doing more of the very kinds of things you have listed on your list -- experiencing life to the max. I've also been mapping out the next phase of my career, trying to conquer this work-life balance thing once and for all, and feeling really happy and invigorated. I love being 40. (Just thought I'd send you young 'uns a post from "the other side" of 40.) :-)

I still haven't worked on my list.*sigh*I'll be 30 in four weeks.

Invent a way to keep me from turning 40!

I want to make sure you accomplish # 15. I'm up for # 17 as well, as long as it includes # 18. I'll even do the dishes.

I wish I could be with you when you visit Split Rock Lighthouse up on the North Shore of Lake Superior! It's great. I love the North Shore. I should see if I have any pictures to send you from when my husband and I went last summer.

Before I turn 40, I think I am going to throw my self a good birthday party. I am not sure that anyone is going to throw one for me. (If you read my blog, you'll see I'm having a pity party right now.)
