God, Where Are You?

How closely does God watch our lives? How concerned is God? How much does God enter into the lives of those in trouble, and those about to start trouble? After Hurricane Katrina, my guess is, not much!

There  is a song called From a Distance. It tells of how beautiful our planet looks from a distance, how safe and clean and peaceful it looks. Then it goes on to say "God is watching us, God is watching us, God is watching us, from a distance." This line is open to interpretation, some say that we must watch what we do, because God is watching us, we don't always see that, because God is watching us, from a distance. I say if there is a god, then on the sixth day God gave us free will, and left the rest to us. Regardless of which way I look at it, when I see or hear news from New Orleans, god seems pretty distant.
