I love this piece. In addition to mothering a 2.5-year-old, I will also be nurturing a Web site today and later on, two obsessive compulsive cats and one tired husband. (He's still recovering from his midnight trip to "Star Wars.")

I love your essay! I know I'll be coming back to this one!

Today I will be mom to our lawn which needs to be mowed. Let that be job #251.

You have a wonderful challenging job. Enjoy it in good health.

Today, I will mother:
over 60 teaching assistants and adjuncts, a two-year-old, a husband, a book of poems, a friend whose husband is having an appendectomy, two 8 year old cats and a 13 year old dog, laundry, and I'm sure there's more I haven't even thought of yet.

You're right: we're mothers to all and every thing we come into contact with.

You're a project manager, event planner, mediator, bookkeeper, LAN staff, budget officer, acquisition manager, and stylist. Want to work for me?
