I almost left for work early today. Colter and I were both up at 5:30 a.m., cuddled and watched cartoons, and then around 7 a.m. I was ready to shower and leave. Gary asked me if I was getting ready to head out and I thought about how busy today will be, and how great it would be to get an early start and maybe take tomorrow off (Colter's school is closed). I said I was thinking about it. Then I remembered the thousands of people who rushed out of the house two years ago, never to return. They couldn't know that Sept. 11, 2001 would change their families and our lives forever. And I can't know what's to come. So, we all had french toast and talked about Colter's plan for show and tell. I left a little late, but truly nourished.
