We went out to eat yesterday and when Colter had finished his meal, he left his seat, came over to mine, put his arm around my shoulders, then sat on my lap.
I love that my 9-year-old son is entirely comfortable sitting on my lap, even in a crowded restaurant.
He has always been a lap-sitter with me (not as much with Gary), and I have always enjoyed the closeness, the cuddling, the company. Even now, when he weighs about 70 pounds.
At 7 1/2 years old,Lillianna is the queen of lap sitting.
At least 3 times a day, she jumps in my lap. I love it and hope it never stops!!

I read this entry to MY 9-yr-old lap sitter. He smiled and climbed onto my lap.

My kids are only 2 year & one month so I have 2 of them. I love to hear, "Mommy, sit in your yap?" from my 2 year old. (He's still working on those "l's.")

my 14 yo was my lap sitter, but he's become a cuddler. not so much in public anymore, but at home he will still share the couch in front of the tv - in winter we end up like a pretzel under a blanket. the pretzel possie is not too much fun if he falls asleep, extricating myself has become an art in itself!
love him to death!

My 10 year old daughter would be our lapsitter. The 18 mo. old is our cuddle bum - she likes to go around the house "bumming cuddles" off of anyone with a cuddle to spare. The resident teenager, 13, is our big hugger...
